Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) is an action-oriented approach to behavior change. ACT promotes attuning awareness to experience in more adaptive ways. ACT helps us learn to reduce struggle with experiences (thoughts, feelings) in order to reduce our suffering. ACT uses metaphors, exercises, and the properties of language to decrease engagement in behaviors that continue our suffering.
